Location: Malaga

Quickturn Machining is seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Machinist with Mazak Experience to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis at our facility in Malaga WA 6090. This is a key position within our manufacturing operations, where you will play an integral role in delivering high-quality precision components to our valued clients. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machinery, ensuring all work meets our stringent quality standards and deadlines.

This position is crucial to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the machining and manufacturing sector.

While we are after someone with Mazak experience, training can be provided if you are a suitable applicant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC machines including lathes to produce precision components according to technical drawings and specifications.
  • Set up and program CNC Lathes, adjust tool offsets, speeds and feeds to achieve optimal results.
  • Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments such as micrometres, callipers and gauges to ensure they meet required tolerances and quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of CNC equipment to ensure machinery operates efficiently and reliably.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to understand project requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and programming issues on CNC machines to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of production runs including dimension reports.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to meet production schedules and deadlines.
  • Follow all health, safety and environmental procedures and protocols.
What we're looking for
  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, with minimum 3-5 years of hands‑on experience operating CNC machinery.
  • Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Solid understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, materials and tolerances.
  • Experience with CNC programming, preferably using Mazatrol.
  • Competency in using precision measuring instruments and quality control techniques.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and maintain attention to detail when working to tight tolerances.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Trade Certificate in CNC Machining, 1st Class Machinist, Fitter / Machinist.
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to work full‑time hours.
