Overview
Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE) is hiring a Bottling Operator Nights in Paterson, WA based out of our Columbia Crest Winery. This position supports winemakers and night production teams in the final process of establishing a great bottle of wine.
Responsibilities- Perform all job functions in strict adherence to company health and safety protocols, quality control standards, and standard operating procedures.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and repair basic malfunctions on designated bottling equipment (e.g., case packer labeler, palletizer, depalletizer, capsule machine, inserter, filler, and mobile bottling line) under moderate supervision.
- Perform basic startup and shutdown functions for designated bottling line equipment.
- Conduct routine equipment and quality checks during the shift to ensure proper flow of materials, accurate labeling, and clear line routine jams.
- Assist with line changeovers under supervision of a lead or supervisor.
- Operate equipment with a commitment to product quality and production efficiency.
- Assistance with non-equipment related tasks such as packing/repacking, sanitizing, glass removal, and supporting mobile bottling line operations.
- Wear required PPE (safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses) in production areas.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
- Must be 21+ years of age.
- One to two years of prior experience in liquid bottling preferred.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds intermittently.
- Available to work variable 12-hour night shift schedules.
- Some knowledge or experience in the general maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Stand for long periods (up to a full shift).
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
- History of responsible use of alcohol and the fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.
$18.50-$21.40 per hour, based on relevant experience. Starting pay for this role is $18.50 per hour plus a night shift differential.
Ste. Michelle Wine Estates pays equal pay for equal work. Individual offers are based on prior experience and education relevant to the role.
