NDT Technician 2
Join our team in Airway Heights, WA, a city known for its vibrant community and proximity to beautiful outdoor recreational areas. We are seeking a skilled NDT Technician 2 to perform non-destructive testing on a variety of sheet metal aircraft components. This role involves processing parts and interpreting findings in accordance with company and customer specifications.
Responsibilities- Process parts and interpret findings according to company and customer specifications and requirements.
- Follow established NDT technique sheets and ensure any revisions meet requirements.
- Support NDT Technician 1 and assist with inspections.
- Accurately document inspection findings.
- Create and revise NDT technique sheets as needed.
- Generate x-ray film for parts with simple and complex geometry.
- Identify faulty processes and report to the applicable NDT Tech or Supervisor.
- Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of NDT methods and propose solutions to productivity issues.
- Check required dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other inspection devices.
- Ensure proper documentation is entered on manufacturing planning and paperless timecard system.
- Interpret and follow written instructions, sketches, schedules, drawings, and documents.
- Perform all work in accordance with established standards and safety procedures.
- May demonstrate basic operations to others.
- Work under direct oversight in conventional x-ray and limited oversight in FPI.
- Certified in FPI, Radiographic, and Digital X-Ray Inspection.
- Able to read and understand manufacturing planning, engineering blueprints, and sketches.
- Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of shop math and precision measurement equipment.
- Possess adequate knowledge of company manufacturing and NDT processes to anticipate problems and implement effective inspection techniques.
- General knowledge of welding and forming processes.
- Certification(s) and hours required; years of experience not necessary.
