Dogwood Industries is hiring a Fitter Fabricator to support modular industrial construction projects. In this hands-on role, you will read blueprints, measure and cut steel, fit and tack assemblies, and perform structural welding for rugged, relocatable, and permanent facilities. You'll use shop tools, overhead cranes, and fabrication equipment to build frames, modules, and components to precise tolerances. Working closely with engineers and production teams, you'll help solve build issues, maintain a safe, organized work area, and contribute to continuous improvement in quality, throughput, and safety on projects nationwide.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols for modular building components.
- Measure, cut, and prepare steel to specifications using saws, torches, and plasma cutters.
- Fit, square, and tack structural assemblies to tight tolerances prior to final weld.
- Perform structural welding on frames, skids, and building modules following procedures.
- Operate shop equipment, hand tools, and overhead cranes safely and efficiently.
- Inspect welds and fits for quality, making corrections to meet standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and production teams to resolve build issues.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards.
- Support continuous improvement efforts in productivity, quality, and safety.
- Assist with loading, staging, and handling of fabricated modules for shipment or installation.
