Parker Hannifin is seeking an Engineering Manager, Hardware to lead a high-performing engineering team in the development of innovative, reliable hardware solutions that support critical motion and control technologies.

The Engineering Manager of Hardware and Embedded Systems is responsible for leading the hardware engineering function focused on electrical and electronic hardware design, embedded systems integration, device controls, product validation, and sustaining engineering support for new and existing products. This role provides technical leadership, people management, project execution oversight, and cross-functional coordination to deliver products that meet customer, business, quality, reliability, regulatory, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost objectives.

This position manages and develops engineers involved in hardware architecture, electrical/electronic design, circuit design, PCB development, component selection, controls integration, testing, validation, and product lifecycle support. This role requires strong technical judgment, leadership capability, and experience guiding hardware products from concept through production launch and ongoing field support. The Hardware Engineering Manager ensures engineering activities are aligned with project schedules, technical performance requirements, cost targets, quality standards, reliability expectations, cybersecurity interface considerations, supply chain needs, and competitive performance objectives.

This position will be filled at either our Mirabel, QC (CAN) or Washington, MO (USA) location and is an onsite role; remote work is not available.

The Hardware Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the improvement of existing hardware products and the development of new hardware product derivatives to meet defined customer, business, technical, regulatory, quality, reliability, and manufacturability requirements. This role has the authority to assign and direct available engineering resources, coordinate cross-functional support, recommend resource allocations, and participate in establishing project requirements, priorities, schedules, and technical objectives.

  • Provide leadership and direction for assigned hardware engineering team(s), including electrical hardware, electronics, embedded firmware coordination, product validation, and related technical functions.
  • Manage, coach, and develop direct reports responsible for hardware design, electrical engineering, PCB development, component selection, hardware validation, and related engineering activities.
  • Translate product, customer, business, regulatory, safety, cybersecurity, and technical requirements into hardware engineering plans, priorities, schedules, resource assignments, and deliverables.
  • Lead hardware development activities for new products, product improvements, sustaining engineering, cost reduction, quality improvement, production support, and field issue resolution.
  • Ensure hardware engineering projects meet established objectives for cost, schedule, technical performance, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, safety, compliance, cybersecurity, and customer satisfaction.
  • Direct or delegate preparation and review of hardware engineering documentation, including design concepts, technical specifications, electrical schematics, PCB layouts, drawings, bills of material, test plans, validation plans, design review records, and engineering change documentation.
  • Oversee hardware architecture, electrical design, component selection, design verification, validation testing, and release readiness for assigned products or platforms.
  • Ensure hardware designs comply with applicable Parker engineering standards, industry standards, regulatory requirements, safety requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Lead engineering planning activities, including project prioritization, resource allocation, milestone tracking, design reviews, project status reporting, and coordination with project management.
