Health Services Coordinator

School District of Washington District Wide – Washington, Missouri

Job Overview

The School District of Washington seeks a school nurse to coordinate the district health services program, providing administrative support, monitoring efforts, ensuring health services at all locations, and assessing the needs of the district. The role requires building professional relationships, effective communication, high‑level organizational skills, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

Key Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse or eligibility for RN license at hire with expectation of licensure for the 2026‑2027 school year.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Work with Human Resources to ensure staffing at all locations, including onboarding, professional development, and managing employment gaps.
  • Stay informed of legislative changes affecting health services operations and proactively plan with executive administration.
  • Provide nurse training on policies, procedures, compliance, and inventory, including marketing and informational materials for public access.
  • Utilize data from multiple sources to analyze efforts and provide recommendations.
  • Evaluate district nursing staff.
  • Promote and support professional development activities, ethical practices, and responsibilities related to the scope of this position.
  • Cooperate in partnerships and collaborative efforts to support student and employee needs, such as organizing flu shots and vaccine clinics.
  • Maintain reliable attendance to perform the functions of this position.
  • Perform associated roles for building operations and respond in emergencies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required for district operations.
Other Responsibilities
  • Maintain appropriate student records and timelines associated with school nursing duties.
  • Attend meetings, workshops, and events necessary for district operations and to enhance knowledge.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all school‑related material.
  • Attend events outside of the regular school day designed to bring the public into the school and serve on relevant committees.
Term of Employment

The lead nurse work calendar spans from the first working day in August to the last working day in May, totaling 178 working days (185 paid days). Applicable health and ancillary insurance, annual paid leave, and defined benefit pension are provided. Starting salary aligns with the RN pay schedule plus $1.00 per hour additional for lead nurse activities.

Compensation

Full‑time: $26.19 to $31.44 per hour.
