Position Details
- RN - Surgical & Orthopedic Care Unit
- Mercy Hospital Washington
- Part Time | 12 hrs/week
- Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Stay Premium Pay: up to $8/hr extra based on Mercy service years
- Loan Forgiveness: up to $20,000 for new graduate nurses
- Tuition Reimbursement: up to $2,000 per year

- Shift Differentials
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of licensed practitioners or a registered professional nurse. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments while upholding patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
Unit Responsibilities- Orthopedic procedures: knees, hips, shoulders
- General surgeries: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resections
- Specialized care: bariatric surgery, sepsis, pancreatitis, stable pneumothorax

- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- Active RN license (state‑specific or compact)
- Must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Certifications Required
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- BLS – Basic Life Support (or within 30 days of hire)
- Unit‑specific certifications (timeline for completion)
- Physical Requirements
- Regularly lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged standing and walking throughout shift
- Ability to bend, kneel, twist or squat as needed
