Vision Associates - Eyecare Sales Associate

Provides unsurpassed patient experiences through selection of eyewear and other products. Supports establishing the practice as the premier destination for all vision needs within the community.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greets all patients with a warm welcome. Shows urgency in providing service to patients and satisfying their needs.
  • Assists the patient in selecting frames and lenses that are best suited for their vision, lifestyle and budgetary needs. Suggests improvements and recommends solutions to problems.
  • Anticipates problems before they occur; explores underlying reasons for recurring problems; goes beyond symptoms to get at causes; strives to develop long‑term solutions to problems.
  • Shows patience and courtesy; tracks down answers to unfamiliar questions or products.
  • Handles tasks, such as taking and recording measurements, adjusting or fitting eyewear carefully and correctly, is thorough and exact in details under the guidance of Licensed Optician.
  • Demonstrates superior product knowledge; accurately describes the features and benefits of all products using the appropriate tools.
  • Attentive to details, asks clarifying questions, and consults with Licensed Optician as needed.
  • Ensures finished eyewear meets Company optical standards and patient requirements and requests.
  • Takes ownership to achieve exceptional results on individual and team goals.
  • Operates the point‑of‑sale system, inputting patient information with accuracy and attention to detail. When required, creates and tenders sales transactions, following operational processes and standards.
  • Commits to delivery date and time, seeks feedback and asks for referrals.
  • Presents, celebrates and educates at time of dispense.
  • Takes pride in dispensary appearance, shows initiative to keep clean, attractive and organized. Secures and protects company assets within control.
  • Effectively collaborates with all doctors and practice staff on a daily basis to ensure high level partnership for patient care.
  • Informs management of safety opportunities; demonstrates safe work practices.
  • Possesses a “can do” spirit and strong drive for results; self‑motivated with a desire for continual learning and improvement.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedure, including but not limited to discounting, promotions and inventory management.
  • Works weekends and evenings in support of the business needs (varies by location).
  • Adheres to attendance and daily time‑keeping requirements, all company policies and procedures.
  • Fosters positive working relationships with the practice, communicating any concerns promptly to the Manager.
  • Consistently maintains proper dress code.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manager or as business needs.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service skills to include communication (listening, verbal, written) and team building.
  • Strong basic math skills.
  • Sales and service skills.
  • Familiarity with technology, such as point‑of‑sale, patient record systems, or other software applications.
  • Embraces new technology and change.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Optical dispensing experience.
  • Previous eyecare and/or customer service experience.
