Role and Location

We are looking for a Tax Counsel. This is a hybrid position based in Iselin, NJ, Plano, TX, or Washington D.C.

You’ll make an impact by:
  • Mergers, Acquisitions, Divestitures, Joint Ventures & Corporate Integration: assist with planning and implementation to ensure tax efficiency; support the tax team in guidance for joint ventures and strategic partnerships; contribute to tax support during post-acquisition integration; coordinate with the Tax Compliance Team to ensure all statements and elections are properly included in the Company’s tax filings.
  • Tax Planning: collaborate with the Planning & Reporting team to implement planning that manages the Company’s overall tax burden; learn about operations and financial reporting systems to identify potential tax planning opportunities; research and interpret tax laws to resolve a wide variety of tax questions; stay informed about proposed and final tax law changes and assess potential impacts; assist with communications and coordination with outside advisors;

    work on special projects with other Tax Department functions (e.g., Competent Authority proceedings, tax controversy, valuations, transfer pricing, and employee compensation).
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in positions of increasing responsibility within the tax function in industry, a law firm, and/or public accounting firm.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Juris Doctor required.
  • 8+ years’ experience of proven strong technical tax and analytical skills.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in international tax, partnership tax, tax issues associated with financial services matters and leasing activities, and/or employee compensation and benefits.
  • Experience modeling the tax consequences of alternative transactions in Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with AI and tax technology.
  • Familiarity with tax accounting concepts.
  • Familiarity with US corporate income tax returns and schedules.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate, communicate, negotiate, influence, and implement change within the tax organization and other Company units.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a proactive personality, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and convey complex tax concepts in plain English.
  • LLM in Taxation is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar area preferred.

  • The pay range for this position is $159,579-$273,564 with an annual incentive target of 20% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may vary based on budget, candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
