Location: Union Gap

Position Summary

The Food Bank Lead will assist in the operation of the food bank. These functions include recruitment and retention of volunteers, donors, and clients; provide all aspects of client and customer service; and perform monthly reporting for the food bank and data entry relative to food bank reports and time sheets. This is a part-time position, scheduled for 24 hours each week, with specific hours to meet the needs of the food bank.

Tue 6am-12pm;
Thu 7am-3:30pm;
Fri 6am-12pm

Responsibilities
  • Donations
    • Operate a box truck for daily pick up of donations from established donors
    • Keep inventory of all food bank donations
    • Assess donation needs of food bank and implement solutions that address those needs
    • Develop community donation drives to increase inventory
    • Submit monthly donation reports and paperwork
    • Create and maintain community partnerships to support the growth of food and cash donations
  • Volunteers
    • Assess food bank needs for volunteers in regards to recruitment and retention
    • Maintain a weekly schedule of volunteers and assign tasks accordingly
    • Mentor and train food bank volunteers
    • Create strategic community partnerships to increase volunteer opportunities
    • Ensure all volunteers follow policies and procedures in the handling of food and safety
    • Ensure all volunteers follow client registration processes
    • Maintain open communication and good relationship standing with food bank volunteers
  • Data Entry
    • Maintain organized data regarding clients, donations, and volunteers
    • Submit monthly reports to supervisor and reporting grant agents in a timely manner
    • Submit time sheets on time, every time
    • Maintain records of up-to-date policies and procedures for all aspects of the food bank
  • Janitorial
    • Perform janitorial duties according to established standards and as directed
    • Contribute to maintaining acceptable overall appearance of the food bank and grounds
  • Perform other duties as assigned
    • Attend trainings, workshops, and meetings to promote personal and professional development
    • Participate in an annual evaluation with St. Vincent Centers Manager of Operations
Qualifications

Non-Physical Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred

Experience

  • 2 years experience in grocery, food prep or related field, is desired
  • Excellent attendance history

Special Skills

  • Self-starter
  • Ability to exercise excellent judgement
  • Solid communication skills
  • Ability to work successfully individually and in a team setting
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred but not required

Licensure, Registration, Certification

  • Valid Washing State driver's license and required minimum liability insurance for WA State
  • Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities' liability insurance provider
  • Washington State Food Handlers card

Employment is conditional upon:

  • Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required

Wage
: $17.13-$18.75
