Responsibilities- Management of Instructional Time – Prepare materials, supplies, and equipment for each lesson; start class promptly; keep students on task.
- Management of Student Behavior – Establish rules and procedures for routine matters, verbal participation, and movement; monitor behavior continuously; address inappropriate behavior promptly while maintaining student dignity.
- Instructional Presentation – Review prior material, introduce objectives, present lessons, give examples and demonstrations, pose questions, maintain brisk pace, manage transitions, and summarize key points.
- Instructional Monitoring of Student Performance – Maintain clear work standards, circulate during class work, use oral and written checks, and ask clear questions.
- Instructional Feedback – Provide corrective and sustaining feedback on in‑class and out‑of‑class work to encourage growth.
- Facilitating Instruction – Develop and revise instructional plans aligned with school and system goals, use diagnostic data, keep accurate records, and allocate resources to support learning.
- Interacting Within the Educational Environment – Treat all students fairly, and collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, parents, and community partners.
- Performing Non‑Instructional Duties – Execute assigned duties, adhere to policies, and participate in professional development.
- Degree in education or a related field qualifying for NC teaching licensure.
- Physical capability to use classroom equipment and perform light work.
- Data conception, interpersonal communication, language ability, intelligence, verbal aptitude, numerical aptitude, form/spatial aptitude, motor coordination, manual dexterity, color discrimination, interpersonal temperament, and physical communication as required for instructional duties.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities including student safety monitoring, motivation, classroom order, clerical duties, office machine operation, record keeping, and effective working relationships.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
