The Director of Personal Enrichment Initiatives & Regional Centers directs the efforts of the Personal Enrichment program & Regional Centers in a dynamic academic environment which requires accuracy, efficiency, effectiveness, the ability to work independently, and strong written and oral communication skills. The director must be detail-oriented and will be expected to provide exemplary customer service to students, the public, the community, and colleagues on a daily basis.
The position also requires one to maintain flexibility and willingness to change; open-mindedness, fairness and the ability to see multiple perspectives, and accept responsibility for professional and personal growth.

Minimum Qualifications - A bachelor degree in business administration, management, adult education, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
Preferred Qualifications - A masters degree in business administration, management, adult education, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
Essential Duties
- Under the direction of the Dean of Continuing Education, the Director of Personal Enrichment & Regional Centers works cooperatively with BCCC faculty and staff to perform the following:
- Manage the development, maintenance, and administration of a comprehensive Personal Enrichment Program to include classes focusing on community service, lifelong learning opportunities, and summer enrichment for youth.
- Coordinate the integration of the instructional components of the Personal Enrichment Program including the selection and evaluation of instructional staff, preparation of staff assignments, curriculum development, class schedules, and program development and monitoring.
- Coordinate the Performance Evaluation Review process for part-time instructors using instructor and course evaluations. Review all data results with part-time instructors in an effort to maintain continuous quality improvement in instruction and course curricula.
- Schedule the use of facilities and purchase, manage, and inventory equipment and supplies.
- Work with appropriate campus personnel to identify, recruit, and enroll personal enrichment students.
- Complete required class visitations and evaluations.
- Work with Continuing Education directors and coordinators to oversee strategic planning and course offerings at the BCCC Workforce & Continuing Education Centers to include the Washington County Center and Hyde County Davis Center.
- Supervise the BCCC Center Coordinator(s).
- Maintain standards for compliance with state and national accrediting agencies, NC Community College System, and Beaufort County Community College.
- Consult with state and local agencies in developing and administering training programs through the establishment of an advisory committee; interview representatives from such agencies to ensure that program objectives are aligned with training needs.
- Manage departmental budgets for Personal Enrichment and for regional center operations.
- Prepare presentations, brochures, and other documents pertaining to the Personal Enrichment Program & Regional Centers.
- Effectively use digital media to market and recruit for personal enrichment programs and regional center offerings.
- Work with BCCC grant writers to identify and secure grants in support of personal enrichment initiatives, regional center operations, and summer enrichment programs for youth.
- Attend local, regional, state, and national conferences and meetings associated with Personal Enrichment programs & Regional Centers.
- Maintain student, instructor, and staff confidentiality. Consistently monitor work area to ensure instructor and student data is being protected according to Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations. Participate in annual FERPA training.
- Adapt and respond to changing work situations and environments in a positive manner.
- Identify and improve upon internal work-flow procedures in an effort to provide improved customer service to Continuing Education customers, both internal and external.
- Serve on appropriate college committees as assigned.
- Participate in professional development activities designed to enhance job skills and knowledge, as agreed upon by the employee and supervisor.
- Interact with students, the public, the community, and co-workers in a cooperative, courteous and professional manner.
- Comply with the College's policies and procedures.
- Work flexible schedule to include nights and weekends, as needed.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities, as assigned by supervisor.
FLSA
- Exempt
Estimated Hours per Week - 40 hrs w/ some nights and weekends required.
Salary - $58,000 - $67,000 Based on the College's salary plan and commensurate with education and relevant work experience.
