Full-time 9 month faculty position. Provide instruction that fulfills the requirements of the NC State Board of Cosmetic Arts and the North Carolina Community College System for Cosmetology courses.

Required:
Current North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art Cosmetologist license, Current North Carolina State Board of Cosmetic Art Cosmetology Teacher license, Current CEUs that support field experience and/or advanced education in Cosmetology.
Work Experience:
Required:
Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed cosmetologist.
Preferred Qualifications

Associates Degree in Cosmetology from a regionally accredited institution. Preferred:
Have at least 2 years' experience as a licensed cosmetology instructor, preferably within a community college. Five years documented cosmetology work experience. Experience working with all hair color techniques and corrective color.
Essential Duties
- Provide instruction for Cosmetology Practice students in theory and lab. Course development will follow department, institutional, and state guidelines. Create course materials (course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, tests, handouts, lectures, slides, assignments, rubrics, models, classroom schedule activities, group work). Develop, prepare and grade assignments identified to evaluate student performance and based on student learning outcomes. Set up materials on Blackboard (grade book, assignments).
Set up policies compliant with department, institutional, and state regulations and requirements. Hold student conferences as needed and required. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance; maintain other records and data bases according to program needs and/or accreditation requirements. Correspond with students, lead instructor, division dean, and Vice President of Academic Affairs and provide responses in a timely manner.
Keep up with grades and attendance on a weekly basis. Submit grade and attendance reports as required. Record attendance in Sef-Service. Organize and maintain a clean and efficient classroom and lab setting; model and instruct students on the importance of a clean and organized work environment. Oversee inventory control and management. Work with students registered with Disabilities Services. Stay abreast of new developments and changes in the career field of Cosmetology and the NC Cosmetic Art Rules and Regulations.
Complete all compulsory training in regards to FERPA, Title IX, and Campus Safety. Respond to student issues professionally and report unresolved issues or classroom incidents to the Lead Instructor. Adhere to all division and campus policies and procedures.

Estimated Hours per Week - 40 (A minimum of 30 of those to be worked on campus).
Salary - $42,000 - $54,000 Based on the College's salary plan and commensurate with education and relevant work experience.
