Position Summary
The Hospital Laboratory Manager will administer policies, manage personnel and daily activities in the delivery of quality patient care within the area of responsibility. In this role, you will maintain adequate inventory of supplies and reagents to perform testing, assure adequate equipment is available, operational and performance monitored. Monitor current accreditation standards to ensure department compliance with all regulatory agencies (CAP, JCAHO, NCCLS, CLIA, ASHI, OSHA, Federal Regulations, and AABB).
Develop, plan and audit departmental goals and budget. As the Hospital Laboratory Manager, you will monitor and serve as a resource for activities related to physical plant, data processing, and educational training of students, and Departmental/Hospital committees.
- BS Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or Biologic Science. A four‑year degree is required for Managers of non‑testing areas.
- Five (5) years of current/related clinical laboratory experience is required.
- ECUH Community Hospitals:
Generalist experience to include Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Blood Bank. - Two (2) years of supervisory experience in the laboratory or clinical setting is required.
- Licensure/Certification: MLS/MT (ASCP, AMT, HEW, or equivalent) certification is required.
$83,636.80 - $ (annual)
Other Information- 40 hours per week
- Monday – Friday (8 am – 5 pm)

ECU Health Beaufort Hospital serves as a campus of ECU Health Medical Center. The 142‑bed full‑service hospital is located in Washington and has earned national designation as a Primary Stroke Center. It is home to a 16‑bed emergency department that serves approximately 25,000 patients per year, as well as the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center a provider of leading‑edge chemotherapy and radiation therapy, among other cancer services.
ECU Health Beaufort also offers general medical and surgical services, operative services, a women’s birthing center, rehabilitation services and outpatient clinics.
