Travel Labor and Delivery RN

Overview

American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Omak, Washington.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a critical access hospital in Washington State, requiring Cerner experience and a minimum of 2 years of L&D experience.

• Critical access hospital setting with 25 beds and a Level IV Trauma Center
• Labor & Delivery unit performing approximately 300 deliveries per year
• LDRP work setting with OB nurses covering Postpartum patients when no Labor patients are in-house
• Two nurses staffed per shift
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, with occasional 1:5 depending on admissions and discharges
• Night shift schedule (3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), weekdays with some weekends
• Charting done in Cerner (required)
• 13-week contract with possibility of extension
• Responsibilities include Labor & Delivery care, postpartum patient care, newborn assessment and care, IV therapy, and isolation precautions/PPE
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former staff must have been away for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Scrubs are not provided; any color scrub is acceptable
• The facility is located in Omak, WA, with nearby outdoor recreational activities including hiking, fishing, kayaking, and skiing at Loup Loup Ski Bowl (32 min) and Sitzmark Ski Hall (55 min)

• Active WA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• Preferred certification: AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Critical access hospital experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, newborn assessment, newborn care, postpartum care, and vaginal delivery
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Two professional references covering the past 2 years in L&D specialty required for consideration
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
