Position Overview
Licensed Practical Nurse Level 4 (LPN4) at Clallam Bay Corrections Center, Clallam Bay, Washington.
Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified LPN
4.
Monthly salary: $5,892.00-$7,930.00
Schedule:
2:00PM-10:00PM ) Friday‑Tuesday (Wed/Thurs off)
Shift differential: $2.50 per hour for evening and night shift work.
Additional supplemental shift premiums: $1.00 per hour for hours 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.; $3.00 per hour for hours worked Friday midnight to Sunday midnight.
Travel:
Vanpool incentives available for DOC employees eligible for the Clallam Transit Vanpool program.
- Practice nursing safely and effectively in the correctional setting within the scope of practice defined by state law.
- Collect and monitor data on health status and report results to the Registered Nurse.
- Assist in developing nursing diagnoses, outcomes, and care plans.
- Carry out nursing care plans, perform therapeutic interventions, and determine need for RN input.
- Assist in analysis, evaluation, and revision of care processes.
- Employ appropriate safety techniques for moving loads.
- Delegate and supervise tasks to other LPNs and assistive personnel, report outcomes to the Registered Nurse.
- Maintain professional nursing conduct and attendance.
- Communicate effectively with offenders, families, healthcare personnel, and institutional staff; document findings and actions accurately.
- Administer medication per RN delegation, oversee medication area, and process orders.
- Provide competent patient care, including treatment room duties, observe vital signs, assist minor procedures, evaluate orders, and give emergency care including CPR.
- Initial and continuous licensure in Washington as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Two years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Completion of training by the American Heart Association in Healthcare Provider CPR.
- Proficiency with computer-based programs for scheduling, monitoring, tracking patient information, data entry, word processing, and email.
- Experience as a practical nurse in an acute care setting or a correctional facility.
