Description Registered Nurse 2 (RN2) Fulltime, Permanent Coyote Ridge Corrections Complex (CRCC) Connell, WA Schedule:
Sunday
- Thursday 6:00AM-2:30PM (Friday and Saturday off)

Monthly Salary Range: $7,832.00-$12,839.00 Hourly Salary Range: $45.01-$73.79

DOC is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for the Coyote Ridge Corrections Center located outside the Tri Cities in Connell, WA . Registered Nurses will receive shift differential in the amount of two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) per hour for evening shift and night shift work.

Employees may also qualify for one or both of these supplemental shift premiums in addition to the above.

- A. One dollar ($1.00) per hour during any hours assigned to work from 11:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.

- B. Three dollars ($3.00) per hour during any hours worked from Friday midnight to Sunday midnight.

This position supports the health services and DOC mission by ensuring that facility records are secure, complete and available on demand for the myriads of service areas within Health Services.

Coyote Ridge Corrections Center has a diverse population seeing different chronic diseases and taking care of those that need long term and palliative care.
  • Extended Observations unit up to 96 hr. stay (4 beds)
  • Long term palliative care unit
  • See up to 2500 patients with different chronic disease (diabetes, hypertension, cancer, autoimmune disorders and much more)

Correctional Health is a rewarding career path at DOC, in which health care professionals treat a wide array of cases for patients residing in a state correctional facility. Health Services is responsible for basic primary care for incarcerated individuals.

Duties Some of what our RNs do:
  • The registered nurse delivers services which promote health, foster healing, and support coping and adjustment to various health conditions.
  • Screening, assessing, and evaluating incarcerated individuals and their conditions
  • Responding to all other requests for health care attention in a complete, timely, clinically appropriate and therapeutic manner;
  • Delegating and supervising work, monitoring, managing, coordinating, and delivering health care;
  • Planning transition, making referrals and arranging follow-up when patients transfer or return to the community;
  • Assisting patients to improve their skill and ability to provide care for themselves and their family
  • Counseling, consulting, teaching, advising, and providing health information that improves quality of health services and/or enhances safety and security.
Qualifications
  • Required Qualifications:
    • Initial and continuous unencumbered licensure in the State of Washington as a Registered Nurse
  • OR
    • An unencumbered Multistate License from a participating Compact Licensure State as outlined by the Nurse Licensure Compact and Department of Health with completion of Suicide Prevention, EDIR training, and MLS demographic survey.
  • AND
    • One (1) year experience working as a Registered Nurse
    • Training by the American Heart Association in Healthcare Provider CPR.
    • Proficient using computer-based programs to schedule, monitor and track patient information, perform data entry and word processing, and communicate via email, as well as other programs that may be needed to complete assigned work.
    • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
  • Analysis - Uses data and information in a clear and rationale thought process to assess and understand issues, evaluate options, form accurate conclusions and make decisions. Identifies key facts, understands the nature and relationship between data elements, recognizes underlying principles or patterns in an array of data, and determines if additional data should be collected.
