Job Summary
The RN is a professional caregiver who provides skilled, compassionate care to patients with a variety of medical conditions. The RN must be able to assess, implement, and evaluate nursing care to a diverse group of patients using sound critical thinking and decisive judgement in accordance with approved policies, procedures, and protocols. Must have specific and basic knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques involved in nursing practice and the care of patients undergoing endoscopic procedures and the acutely ill patient.
Accepts responsibility for maintaining and improving professional skills essential to the area of clinical practice. Supports the mission and values of Summit Pacific Medical Center (SPMC). Functions in compliance with the Washington State Nurse Practice Act.
Pay Range (depending on experience): $41.50 - $78.57 per hour.
Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above, all employees are expected to support the Summit Pacific Medical Center mission, vision and values; comply with SPMC policies and procedures; and conduct themselves in an ethical, professional, respectful, and collaborative manner at all times.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- Graduated from an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred
- At least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting, preferred
- Endoscopic procedure experience, preferred
- One or more years of recent telemetry or cardiac RN experience, preferred
- Current and unrestricted Washington State Nursing license
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS, required
- Working knowledge of nursing procedures and functions
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs
- Respects patient’s right to privacy, protects confidential information following HIPAA standards and maintains accountability for patient safety
- Knowledge of the organization, functions and activities of the nursing unit; ability to organize and prioritize assigned work in coordination with other activities on the unit
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills; ability to read, write and speak English; ability to communicate and document information accurately and legibly; ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Proficient in the use of current technology, including Microsoft Office products; ability to learn and effectively use electronic medical records and other systems and equipment
