Position: NURSE (FLIGHT OPERATIONS) with Security Clearance
Location: McChord Air Force Base

Duties The primary purpose of this position is: to provide clinical oversight in the management and execution of nursing care competencies, organizational training, and flying training requirements supporting the aeromedical evacuation (AE) mission within an Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron. Duty 1:
Performs nursing care in the aeromedical environment. Functions as senior medical member of AE crew in performance of aeromedical evacuation missions. Duty 2:
Oversees AE training programs to ensure assigned personnel are adequately trained in specialty and mission requirements. Duty 3:
Plans, develops, and administers specialized aircrew training program for aeromedical aircrew members. Duty 4:
Represents the nursing and aircrew functions to external agencies such as Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Veterans Affairs (VA), state and local emergency management officials along with wing and HQ functional representatives; establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships to further organizational goals. * Must be a current member of the AF Reserves or willing/qualified to join
* The position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance level designated for this position.
* If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement. More information on PCS requirements, may be found at:  
* This posn is subject to provision of the DoD Priority Placement Program
* Must sign a mobility agreement
* Retired military are usually ineligible for membership in the Air Force Reserve. Retired military personnel who have active Air Force Reserve assignments may apply provided they show assignment (position and unit) on their application.
* This is a testing designated position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing.
* Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
* Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
* Employee must maintain current certifications

Qualifications:

In order to qualify, you must meet the basic and specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions for Nursing Series, 0610. INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs, Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

NOTE:

You must submit a copy of your transcripts. WITH LICENSURE:
For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

NOTE:

You must submit a copy of official transcripts and nursing licensure. AND SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS-11) or equivalent. Specialized experience must include: performing nurse duties in the flight environment on all mission design series aircraft used by the aeromedical evaluation; instructing flight nursing for ground and in-flight training; provide staff management and standardization of aeromedical evacuation units and training programs.

ADDITIONALLY, I am a current and qualified crew member at the aircrew flight instructor qualification level. (
