Registered Nurse (Healthcare)Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and individualized nursing care to patients in the hospital setting. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The RN delivers high-quality care while adhering to established protocols, regulatory guidelines, and hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities Patient Care:- Perform comprehensive patient assessments to identify and address individual care needs.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed.
- Monitor patient progress and respond to changes in condition promptly.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct triage to prioritize care based on patient acuity.
- Respond to life-threatening conditions with prompt, evidence-based interventions.
- Stabilize patients experiencing medical emergencies, utilizing critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills.
- Provide care to patients with diverse diagnoses, from acute illnesses to chronic conditions.
- Operate and maintain medical equipment according to established protocols.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain proficiency in advanced interventions, such as wound care, IV therapy, and cardiac monitoring.
- Accurately document all aspects of patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Communicate effectively with providers, team members, and patients to ensure continuity of care.
- Report significant changes in patient conditions or critical incidents promptly to the appropriate personnel.
Education:
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care strategies.
- Advocate for patients rights, safety, and preferences within the care team.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families during stressful or traumatic situations.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with physicians, specialists, and other nurses to deliver holistic, patient-centered care.
- Participate in daily care rounds and interdisciplinary team meetings to optimize care outcomes.
- Mentor and support less experienced staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.

- Maintains attendance by working the hours of the position.
- Follows policies and procedures regarding attendance, vacation, holidays, sick leave, and leaves of absence.
- Uses the timekeeping applications efficiently and accurately.
- Adheres to dress code; appearance is neat and clean; wears name badge while on duty
Uses good customer service skills by relating to staff/healthcare providers, patients/residents, customers, and the general public courteously and diplomatically under all circumstances. - Compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
- Participate in CQI/QAPI activities, NVHD Performance Improvement Initiatives, and Disaster Preparedness education/exercises, and complete duties as assigned in case of emergencies/ICS stand-up.
- Completes mandatory training timely.
- Demonstrates the ability to make decisions, take appropriate action, and follow tasks through to completion.
- Effectively collaborates with peers and team members, using tactful, diplomatic communication techniques in potentially sensitive or emotionally charged situations.
- Demonstrates leadership responsibility and skills, including planning and completing duties with minimal directions from the supervisor when appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned, provided skills, abilities, and qualifications are appropriate and sufficient training is provided.
