Surgery Lead Rn

CMC is seeking a Surgery Lead RN to join our Surgical Services team! The Surgery Lead RN provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care; while addressing the psychosocial, physical, and clinical needs of patients within the surgical environment and functions across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative settings. This role collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, efficient, and effective patient care.

In addition to the responsibilities of a Surgery RN, the Lead RN provides day-to-day operational leadership for Surgical Services, coordinates staffing and workflow, supports quality and regulatory initiatives, and serves as a clinical resource for staff, providers, and leadership.

The Surgery Lead RN is expected to demonstrate strong clinical judgment, leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. This position serves as a role model for professional nursing practice while balancing direct patient care responsibilities with the operational needs of the department. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to prioritize competing demands, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, respond effectively to changing surgical schedules and patient needs, and promote a safe, positive, and collaborative environment.

Qualifications:

Must have a current Washington State RN license. In addition, BLS, ACLS, PALS & NRP certifications is also required. If not certified, certification will be obtained within one year of hire date.

Experience Requirements:2 - 3 years' experience as a in a nursing leadership, supervisory, or charge position

Background in precepting/training/mentoring staff2 - 3 years' previous clinical experience in a hospital setting

Adult education experience preferred BONUS DETAILS – SIGN-ON & RETENTION:$5,000 Sign-on Bonus (paid upon hire)$2,500 1-year Retention Bonus $2,500 2-year Retention Bonus $3.50/hr. night differential/$2.50/hr. weekend differential
