Pre-Anesthesia Nurse Practitioner

Prosser Memorial Health (PMH) in Prosser, Washington seeks a full-time Pre-Anesthesia Nurse Practitioner to provide comprehensive preoperative assessment and optimization at our PAC (Preoperative Assessment Clinic) Clinic. Our Pre-Anesthesia Nurse Practitioner will serve as the clinical liaison between patients, our Anesthesia team, surgeons, and primary care providers to ensure patients are medically prepared for surgery, thereby reducing surgical delays and improving patient outcomes.

PMH is a critical access nonprofit hospital with more than a dozen outpatient clinics dedicated to providing excellent healthcare and support services to realize our mission to improve the health of our community.

• Conduct comprehensive chart reviews and patient evaluations - histories and physical exams, to include airway assessments - to ensure patients’ readiness for surgery.
• Identify and mitigate perioperative risks informed by evidence‑based protocols.
• Approve and review diagnostic studies (labs, imaging, and EKGs), as indicated.
• Complete medication reconciliations.
• Coordinate specialist referrals and additional consultations as appropriate.
• Collaborate directly with the PMH Anesthesia team and Surgeons to ensure patient readiness, particularly patients with higher‑risk conditions.
• Provide patient education, addressing questions and escalating concerns when necessary.
• Serve as a clinical resource for nursing and ancillary staff at the PAC clinic.
• Listed responsibilities are a general overview; additional duties may be assigned.

• Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Active WA State licensure
• DEA registration and active prescriptive authority in WA State
• ACLS certification, required
• Acute Care/Cardiology/Perioperative experience, preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills
• Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient education skills
• Proficiency in Epic/EMR systems and documentation standards
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment

• Three‑year guaranteed salary plus incentive compensation based on productivity.
• Compensation is based on MGMA and determined by skills and experience. Annual base compensation range of $122,000 - $155,000.
