Position Summary-
The Grounds & Facilities Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of buildings, grounds and surrounding facilities. This position requires a hands‑on, dependable individual with experience in general maintenance, landscaping and facilities support. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and includes physical labor and technical tasks.
Key Responsibilities Grounds & Landscaping Maintenance- Mow lawns; perform weed whacking, trimming, weeding, and fertilizing of lawns and landscaped areas.
- Maintain irrigation systems, including shoveling and repairing irrigation lines.
- Collection and dispose of garbage throughout facilities, grounds, and RV Park.
- Maintain clean, safe, and well‑kept outdoor areas.
- Perform basic electrical and plumbing repairs and maintenance.
- Sweep, mop, sanitize and restock restroom facilities.
- Conduct general facility upkeep to ensure buildings are clean, safe and operational.
- Safely operate forklifts and other maintenance equipment.
- Transport materials and supplies as needed.
- Set up and tear down tables, chairs, staging, and other equipment for events.
- Assist with facility preparation before and after events.
- Assist with grounds preparation before and after events.
- Work occasional weekends due to events or emergencies.
- Working up to 14 hour days during the week of fair.
- Working up to 14 hour days during the weekend of fair.
- Lift, move, and carry heavy items.
- Climb ladders and perform manual labor tasks.
- Follow all safety procedures and workplace guidelines.
- Experience in grounds keeping, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
- Experienced forklift operator.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Working knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Combination of indoor and outdoor work.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Physically demanding role requiring standing, walking, bending, lifting, and climbing.
