- Perform reconnaissance on mature timber stands and identify potential harvest units.
- Determine harvest boundaries in accordance with the Quinault Indian Reservation1s Forest Management Plan, including the identification of required Riparian Management Zones, Wetland Management Zones and other protection measures.
- Supervises 1-2 forestry technicians or directs contractors in unit preparation
- Identify operational requirements for harvesting, including recommended yarding systems, road developments and stream crossings.
- Design and implement timber cruises.
- Perform stumpage appraisals.
- Develop draft contracts, prospectuses, maps, and other timber sale-related documents.
- Communicate management objectives to Trust landowners and Tribal officials, drafts official correspondence.
- Provide input to all forest management activities as a member of the QDNR Interdisciplinary Team.
