Job Title: Park Aide (Winter Season)

Position Summary: This recruitment will be used to fill a part‑time, non‑permanent Park Aide position located at Lake Easton State Park, for the 2026 winter season. This position is available from December through March; however, the start and finish date may vary.

Telework: This position is not eligible to telework, as physical in‑office presence is required to perform essential functions.

Washington has a variety of state parks and activities including day‑use, camping, interpretive centers, environmental learning centers, sno‑parks and more! The more than 100 State Parks are spread across the state, from sandy coastal beaches and sheltered Puget Sound islands to sun‑soaked lakes and lava flows east of the Cascade Mountains. The number of vacancies will vary from park to park.

Lake Easton State Park - (located in Kittitas County) is a forested, 516‑acre year‑round camping park with 24,000 feet of freshwater access on the shores of Lake Easton in the Cascade Mountain foothills. The park has beautiful mountain views with cross country and snowmobiling trails to enjoy in the winter and hiking trails to enjoy in the summer. The park's location also allows for snowy winter‑sport opportunities.

Under the supervision of the Park Ranger, Park Aides perform a variety of tasks at a State park, beach, or historical area. A typical work day may include anything from registering campers and collecting camp fees, to cleaning facilities, shoveling snow, snow removal, mowing lawns, or explaining park rules. The specific duties will have some variation by park location.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

• Provide park information to visitors and answer phones.
• Maintain park facilities through light routine maintenance and janitorial services.
• Perform grounds maintenance work, such as installing snow fencing/poles, trimming brush, changing out park signs.
• Sell Sno Park Permits; collect, sort, and count revenue and receipts.
• Perform daily garbage collection and litter control.
• Clean restrooms and stock cleaning supplies.
• Drive light truck or other state vehicle to transport supplies and equipment within the park area; haul recycle and garbage.

At Winter Recreation parks, additional duties may include:

• Remove snow from walkways using snow shovels or small power equipment. Apply ice melt as needed.
• Operate snow removal equipment to maintain roads and parking lots.
• Under the direction of a Park Ranger, assist with traffic flow and parking lot management on busy days.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 17 years old.
• Valid unrestricted (except for corrective lenses) driver's license
  - If your DL is out of state (other than WA State), you will be required to show proof of a valid and current unrestricted driver's license at the time of the interview.
