Amida Technology Solutions is seeking a Program Analyst - Production Issue Coordinator. The successful candidate will provide specialized support to U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Payer Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations team. This role will report to the Program Manager. The ideal candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to support public agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private companies in transforming their data into actionable insights.
What you will do :
- Provide dedicated analytical and workflow support for managing issues impacting VA's Payer EDI operations and related project performance
- Manage EDI production issues to maintain workflow continuity, including intake, tracking, analysis, and defect resolution
- Ensure timely identification, tracking and resolution of production issues such as file format discrepancies, data mapping issues, transmission failures, and other anomalies affecting Payer EDI transactions
- Perform data analysis including researching the root cause of production issues, running SQL queries, searching cloud-based (e.g., AWS) and VA-managed systems for appropriate transactions and medical document attachments, and troubleshooting reporting discrepancies.
- Attend elaboration and UAT handoff meetings, communicating with multiple stakeholders internal and external to VA
- Develop and maintain issue logs, tickets, dashboards, metrics, status reports, action trackers, and other operational documentation
- Collaborate with clinical informaticists, scrum masters, agilists, product owners, VA stakeholders, and technical SMEs to capture operational impacts, decisions, dependencies, risks, and follow-up actions
- Assist with backlog refinement, Program Increment (PI) planning, and roadmap updates for EDI and modernization initiatives
- Contribute to continuous process improvement by documenting lessons learned, retrospective findings, and recommendations for improved performance
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in health informatics, healthcare administration, public health, business, data analytics, information systems, or a related field
- At least four years of relevant experience in EDI operations within VA or similar healthcare payer system
- Experience in data analysis such as root cause analysis of production or other file issues
- Experience developing program reports, trackers, meeting materials, data summaries, and stakeholder-facing documentation
- Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving EDI production issues
- Familiarity with EDI X12 transactions and data mapping
- Solid knowledge of Agile workflows and Jira for issue tracking
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including creating and delivering standard operating briefings and documentation
- Ability to use qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to assess operations and make recommendations for improving business processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and related collaboration tools
- Ability to obtain and maintain a VA Position of Public Trust clearance (minimum Background Investigation); active VA network access eligibility preferred
- Certification in EDI standards or Agile practices
- Experience supporting VA/VHA, OCI/OHI, Field Informatics Service, IHP, HITT, CIOC, VistA/CPRS, Oracle Health/Cerner, or EHR modernization initiatives
