Location: McChord Air Force Base
Duties
* Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of 62d Maintenance Squadron's Quality Assurance, ensuring that scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of C-17A aircraft and associated off equipment components, engines, structural components, support equipment, munitions, and calibration equipment complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets AMC needs.
* Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
* Represents the 62d Maintenance Group with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
* Perform administrative responsibilities:
Verify, record, and maintain all documentation related to the aircraft quality maintenance within the 62d Maintenance Squadron.
* Performs work planning responsibilities.
* Performs work direction responsibilities. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Performs other related duties as assigned. May be required to work uncommon tour of duty, overtime and perform standby duties. May be subject to on-call or recall due to contingencies or emergencies.
* May be required to fly in military and commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty (TOY) assignments.
* May be required to work at various locations within the group and base.
* Employee must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate secret security clearance.
* Safeguards classified or sensitive budget and computer systems related information and/or files.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain civilian and military driver's license.
* This is a Supervisory Position." A 1 year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement

Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management, Quality Assurance Series, 1910. SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include experience that demonstrated a practical knowledge in monitoring, controlling, or maintaining the quality of products or services in quality assurance, procurement, inspection, production, or related areas. Such as:
Reviewing production activities and capabilities in light of contract quality requirements;
Reviewing written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy, and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems, including sampling plans;
Analyzing quality data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality/inspection system;
Verifying by test or inspection, using sampling inspection or intensive product inspection techniques, that products comply with requirements prior to acceptance;
Identifying inadequacies and requesting corrective action;
Computing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods;
Investigating customer complaints and deficiency reports, and providing identification of causes to appropriate authorities;
Reading, interpreting, and applying technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, or technical manuals;
Reviewing and evaluating supply systems operations and procedures through periodic audits and surveillance inspections. Knowledge of quality assurance/control methods, principles, and practices, including statistical analysis and sampling techniques for aircraft and support equipment. Knowledge of aircraft ground handling practices, repair methods and production maintenance processes. Knowledge of the relationship of quality assurance to other activities such as contract administration, supply, engineering.

Successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management,…
