Skamania Lodge is a Pacific Northwest resort set on 175 acres, featuring tree houses, glamping, golf, ziplining, a spa, and multiple restaurants. With over 22,000 sq. ft. of event space, it's a premier destination for retreats, conferences, and celebrations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepares all food items according to standard recipes and/or as specified on guest check. Visually inspects, selects and uses only food items ideal cooking, in preparation of all menu items to ensure consistency of product to the guest.
  • Prepare a variety of food items including meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, and cold foods.
  • Prepares daily requisitions for supplies and food items for production.
  • Work independently at assigned workstation to prep menu items.
  • Store food properly in accordance with the Health Department and hotel standards.
  • Minimize waste and maintain food cost controls.
  • Review work status and check in with leaders before the end of shift.
  • Checks and controls the proper storage of products, monitoring age and condition of all food items to rotate and maintain highest quality. Keeps all refrigeration equipment, storage and working areas clean and clutter free, complying with Health department regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods, including broiling, sautéing, frying, roasting, and moist heat; emphasis on stocks, sauces, and sauté station
  • Expert knife skills and safety
  • Proficiency with kitchen equipment (stoves, ovens, broilers, kettles, steamers)
  • Relevant experience in high-volume or resort kitchen environments preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary or apprenticeship training preferred
  • Understanding of pantry fundamentals and cold food preparation
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in confined spaces and extreme temperatures. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs continuously
  • Basic math skills for recipes, measurements, requisitions, and portioning. Ability to read recipes and follow measurements accurately
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (read, write, speak) additional language skills preferred

$1,000 Sign-on Bonus for Seasonal Full-Time Cook IIs and IIIs!

  • $500 in the payroll following your first 30 days of employment
  • $500 in the payroll following your first 90 days of employment

Compensation: $24 - $26
