6.0 Hours/Day - 5 Days/Week
Contract/Salary Range/Benefits: 180 Days/PSE 26-27 Salary Schedule ($27.49/hour to $29.64/hour), SEBB insurance, PFML, Washington DRS, paid days off (12 sick days and 2 personal days)
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education & Experience- High school education or equivalent
- Two years of related work experience
- School experience preferred
- Responsible for meal preparation including cooking, preparation, assembling, serving and clean-up of meals. Serve meals using correct portioning, meeting USDA minimum standards, and ensuring that food is at the correct temperatures
- Valid Food Handler’s Permit - required
- Successful experience working with children
- Ability to operate standard cooking equipment and knowledge of food preparation methods and procedures
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions and percentages. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
- Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment, including handling of confidential matters
- Ability to keep work organized and carry out duties effectively under pressure
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, with courtesy and respect
- Ability to interact with others in the work environment, including the ability to adapt to new or different conditions
- Ability to be dependable, including good habits in attendance and punctuality
- Ability to operate modern office machines, including copier, computer, FAX and calculator
- Physical ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds to safely lift and/or move equipment and supplies as needed
- Demonstrated ability to interact positively in interpersonal relationships in job situations beyond receiving work instructions, interacting with faculty, students, and the public
- Ability to organize oneself and be attentive to details
- Ability to perform the essential job functions and scheduled assigned tasks
- Must comply with District board policies and procedures
- Bilingual Spanish preferred
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with students, staff, volunteers and community members, maintaining confidentiality
