Position: Food and Beverage Attendant NA-03.
Location: Joint Base Lewis McChord

  • Collects sales slips, total sales on cash register, accepts payment from patrons and makes change as necessary. Maintains related cash records.
  • Sets up food service counters and steam tables with hot and cold foods and beverages. Prepares coffee and hot water for tea, fills beverage dispensers with juices and soft drinks. Prepares fruits and vegetables for cooking and serving.
  • Sets tables, seats guests, records guests' selections and turns in orders to the kitchen. Serves food, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. Cleans tables and immediate area.
  • Washes dishes, pots and pans. Empties trash and cleans and sanitizes containers. Unloads trucks and places contents in proper storage and use areas, brings supplies to work areas. Cleans floors, walls and windows in kitchen, dining and storage areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Appointment subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.

  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
  • An employer referred pre-employment physical examination is required.
  • Physical Effort:
    Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds. Requires constantly standing, stooping, bending, walking and reaching.
  • Working Conditions:

    Work is normally performed inside with adequate lighting and heat. Care is required to avoid serious injury in food preparation and storage areas.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  • This is a 7-day operation, work schedule will vary based on the needs of the activity. Nights, weekends and holidays are required.

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following
  • Must meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcoholic beverage at the time of appointment (18 years of age or older).
  • Be able to lift and carry weights up to 20 pounds.
  • Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
  • Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and/or nonalcoholic beverages.
Education

This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Allowances and Differentials
  • This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
