Location: Union Gap
The Department of Ecology seeks a Streamflow Hydrologist to collect, process, and analyze stream hydrology data for river systems in Washington's Central Region. This role involves installing and operating stream gages, developing rating curves, conducting field measurements, and maintaining telemetry systems to ensure accurate streamflow monitoring. The position is based in Union Gap, WA, offers flexible work options with required in-office days on Mondays and Wednesdays, and includes field work.
Keyqualifications:
- Six years of experience in hydrogeology, hydrology, geology or closely allied field
- Demonstrated competence in hydrologic measurement and stream flow analysis
- Ability to install, operate, and maintain water stage height telemetry systems and data loggers
- Field operations experience including safe equipment, vehicle, and boat operation
- Data quality management and ability to record, review, and maintain accurate scientific data
- Valid driver's license required
