Position: Correctional Officer 1 (CO2), Clallam Bay and Olympic Correction Centers
Location: Clallam Bay

Position Overview

Correctional Officer 1 (CO1) and Correctional Officer 2 (CO2) positions at the Clallam Bay Corrections Center (CBCC) in Clallam Bay, WA, and the Olympic Corrections Center (OCC) in Forks, WA. These are full‑time and on‑call positions available at both facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide safety and security for the institution, staff, and inmates.
  • Control, direct, and monitor the activities and movements of inmates in accordance with established procedures.
  • Enforce department methods and procedures for movement within the facility.
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor, assisting inmates in becoming productive members of society.
  • Complete the Correctional Worker Core (CWC) six‑week academy and ongoing on‑job training.
  • Perform overtime as necessary.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • The legal right to carry a firearm.
  • Minimum one year of experience in DOC Corrections and Custody Officer (CO) level, including completion of the CORE academy and the Field Training Program; OR
  • Minimum one year of experience as a Correctional Officer in adult or juvenile corrections with duties equivalent to CO2.
Salary
  • CO1 Full‑time: $6,046 – $6,512 per month.
  • CO1 On‑call/Hourly: $34.75 – $37.43.
  • CO2 Full‑time: $6,200 – $7,013 per month.
  • CO2 On‑call/Hourly: $35.63 – $40.30.

On‑call Positions

On‑call staff may work an average of 32‑40 hours per week. They attend six weeks of full‑time paid training immediately upon hire and may be considered for full‑time permanent or temporary vacancies. All correctional officers, including on‑call positions, receive the same benefits package when working at least 20 hours per week.
