Position: 11C Indirect Fire Infantryman
Location: Montesano

Job Overview

As an Army National Guard Indirect Fire Infantryman, you will be in charge of the Infantry’s most powerful weapon—the mortar. You will deploy mortars, camouflage positions, parachute from troop transport airplanes to reach remote locations, and neutralize enemy mines.

Responsibilities

As your skills grow, you may supervise and train other soldiers, lead mortar squads, provide tactical and technical guidance, and implement combat orders. You will direct soldiers in offensive and defensive operations, request, observe, and adjust indirect supporting fire.

Key Duties
  • Set up, load, and fire three types of mortars
  • Deploy crew and weapons in offensive, defensive, and retrograde ground combat
  • Operate, clean, and store automatic weapons
  • Employ, fire, and recover anti‑personnel and anti‑tank mines
  • Conduct scouting missions to spot enemy troops and gun positions

Education & Training

You will complete 10 weeks of Basic Training, followed by 14 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT). The training combines hands‑on simulated combat, classroom instruction, squad maneuvers, target practice, and war games.

Requirements
  • Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
