Position Overview

Correctional Officer 1 (CO1) and Correctional Officer 2 (CO2) positions are available at the Clallam Bay Corrections Center (CBCC) in Clallam Bay, WA, and the Olympic Corrections Center (OCC) in Forks, WA. Positions are offered as full‑time or on‑call with no guaranteed minimum hours for on‑call staff.

• Maintain safety, security, and order within an adult correctional facility.
• Control, direct, and monitor inmate movement and activities.
• Serve as a positive role model, using interpersonal and communication skills to help inmates succeed upon re‑entry.
• Participate in all required training, including the six‑week Correctional Worker Core (CWC) academy and, for CO2, the Field Training Program.
• Work overtime as required; overtime is an essential function of the role.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Legal right to carry a firearm in Washington State.
• For CO2:
  • One year of DOC experience as a Correctional Officer, including completion of CORE and the Field Training Program, OR
  • One year in a comparable adult or juvenile correctional role performing security functions equivalent to DOC Officer 2.
• Pass pre‑employment drug testing and psychological evaluation.

  • CO1 – Full‑time: $6,777 – $6,945;
    On‑call/Hourly: $38.95 – $39.91
  • CO2 – Full‑time: $7,298 – $7,477;
    On‑call/Hourly: $41.94 – $42.97
• OCC
  • CO1 – Full‑time: $6,452 – $6,945 Monthly;
    On‑call/Hourly: $37.08 – $39.91
  • CO2 – Full‑time: $6,615 – $7,477 Monthly;
    On‑call/Hourly: $38.02 – $42.97

• CBCC – 900‑bed male facility, medium/close custody, with an Intensive Management Unit; 50 miles west of Port Angeles.
• OCC – 381‑bed male facility, minimum custody, offering treatment, work, and vocational programs.
