Summary

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Pump Mechanic/Field Service Technician with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work in both shop and field environments. This role supports pump repair, troubleshooting, electrical testing, equipment startups, and customer‑site service work. Field service duration will vary based on workload and customer needs.

Responsibilities
  • Perform pump and motor repairs, troubleshooting, and diagnostics in both shop and field settings.
  • Conduct electrical measurements, including voltage readings on three‑phase systems and megger testing of motor windings.
  • Complete startups of new pumps and motors at customer locations.
  • Use rigging and lifting equipment safely; laser alignment and vibration analysis skills are a plus.
  • Read and interpret pump curves and technical documentation.
  • Maintain strong safety practices in all aspects of the job.
  • Develop training materials and train operators/personnel on pump and motor operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Drive to customer sites regularly; must maintain an excellent driving record.
Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in millwright, machining, electrical, or welding.
  • Prior experience as a Pump Field Service Technician strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical measuring tools and electrical safety; a limited electrical license is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to perform rigging, lifting, and safe handling of rotating equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for pumps, motors, and related equipment.
  • Organized, detail‑oriented, and proficient with computers and documentation.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to train others.
  • Must be flexible to work in both shop and field environments.
  • Excellent driving record required.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
Additional Information
  • Physical Demand:
    Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Working Conditions:

    Must be able to work in a shop environment without AC and heat, with possible exposure to dirt, heat, and noise.
