Description
We are looking for an experienced Geostructural Driller to join our specialty construction team. In this role, you will operate specialized drilling equipment on micropile, soil nail wall, tieback anchor, rock anchor, and grouting projects.
The ideal candidate brings strong equipment knowledge, sound judgment in changing soil and rock conditions, and a leadership mindset that supports a safe, productive crew. This role is part of a regional geostructural team that works in North and South Carolina and parts of Georgia and Virginia. The projects are highly specialized and require employees who are comfortable with frequent travel, changing job site conditions, and technically demanding work.

Key Responsibilities- Work safely and comply with all company, client, and site-specific policies and procedures.
- Assist in selecting the appropriate drill rig and tooling, including Comacchio, Casagrande, TEI, or similar equipment, based on project requirements and observed soil or rock conditions.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on drilling equipment to confirm proper function before use.
- Set up, stabilize, position, and align drill rigs at planned boring locations.
- Regulate air pressure, rotary speed, feed pressure, and drilling methods based on ground conditions and project specifications.
- Verify boring locations, depths, and alignments throughout drilling operations.
- Monitor drilling operations by checking gauges, listening to equipment, and adjusting methods as ground conditions change.
- Start, stop, and adjust drilling speed for casing installation as required by job specifications or site conditions.
- Select, attach, and change drill bits and tooling as needed.
- Drill in a variety of soil and rock conditions for shoring, earth retention, foundation support, and heavy civil work.
- Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, minor part replacement, and general equipment care.
- Complete required paperwork, reports, drilling logs, and other project documentation accurately and on time.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating tieback, micropile, or similar specialty drilling equipment.
- Hands-on drill operator experience in geostructural, geotechnical, heavy civil, or specialty foundation construction.
- Working knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in heavy construction work.
- Ability to understand, follow, and communicate written and verbal instructions.
- Valid driver's license that can be maintained in good standing.
