Job Description Summary
The Field Maintenance Technician III is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding farm equipment used in field operations. The role requires collaboration with equipment operators to diagnose malfunctions, take ownership of the repair process in the field, and maintain accurate records. The technician must manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and communicate turnaround times and parts needs to the field supervisor and maintenance shop.
Responsibilities- Diagnose and repair tractors and heavy machinery in the field.
- Troubleshoot, rebuild, and perform preventive maintenance on farm equipment.
- Use GPS systems to adjust equipment for precise navigation and operation.
- Maintain accurate equipment records and documentation.
- Communicate downtime and parts requirements to field supervisor and maintenance shop.
- Provide direction when the field supervisor is unavailable.
- Report unsafe behavior or injuries promptly to supervisor.
- Assist team and lead by example to promote a positive working environment.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Actively comply with company safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets Lamb Weston driving standards (must pass MVR check).
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience on farm equipment (3+ years preferred).
- Experience welding and fabrication for field repairs.
- Hands‑on knowledge of repairing electrical and hydraulic systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning.
- Work outdoors in varied weather conditions, from hot to cold, for up to 14+ hours per day.
- Exposure to loud noise, heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells, and allergens.
- Repetitive arm, wrist, and hand movements.
- Work with hands and arms overhead, inside or under equipment, requiring manual dexterity, coordination, and balance.
- Use of work‑related equipment and adherence to vision requirements such as close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
- Pay Range: $33.39 per hour (reasonable estimate; actual compensation may vary).
