Job Summary:
The Lead Equipment Operations will operate a variety of equipment, trucks, and tractors for street and utility repair, maintenance, and construction of facilities.
- Starting Wage: $23.00/hr – $30.61/hr

- Operate all equipment owned by the Metro District for street and utility repair, maintenance, snow removal, and construction of facilities.
- Perform all tasks for the group, including operations of the full range of heavy‑equipment vehicles.
- Organize and delegate daily workload of employees within the area of responsibility.
- Enforce policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Assist with scheduling staff for coverage of all positions.
- Provide year‑round training and guidance to staff.
- Fabricate and weld in an advanced capacity.
- Plan, devise solutions, and execute projects as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on all equipment, including checking fluids, functional components, cleaning, tire changes, plow maintenance, and broom/brush replacements.
- Perform landscape maintenance activities such as watering, stake removal/installation, pruning, and irrigation maintenance.
- Perform unskilled, semi‑skilled, and skilled labor in support of normal work activities using shovels, rakes, jackhammers, power tools, mowers, and weed whips.
- Attend company training classes as required for the position.
- Perform other duties as required and may be assigned.
- Valid Class A CDL license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 5 years heavy‑equipment experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent – required.
- Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, understanding, and comprehending English – required.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs – required.
- Ability to work outdoors in an alpine environment.
