Location: McChord Air Force Base
Duties The primary purpose of this position is:
Planning, directing, and organizing the daily activities over four (4) GS nonsupervisory employees and one (1) military employee assigned to 62nd OSS HARM Office.
* Leads five or more Aviation Resource Management specialists in the performance of aviation/parachutist management related duties.
* Plans, implements and controls all operational administrative aspects of aviation resource management.
* Researches, validates, and interprets Air Force Instruction (AFI) Mission Design Series (MDS) specific medical and physiological requirements, flying and ground training requirements.
* Interprets and administers laws and regulations regarding entitlement incentive pay. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
* Experience in the Host and Squadron Aviation Resource Management Field is highly desirable.
* May be required to work other than normal duty hours and tours of duty such as rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, call back, uncommon tours of duty, holidays, etc.
* May be required to travel TDY as directed by management, sometimes on short notice, traveling by military or commercial aircraft or by any other designated means.
* May be required to perform duties of supervisor in his/her absence.
* DFAS Case Management System (CMS) knowledge highly desirable.
* May be required to attend various training courses to gain/maintain job proficiency.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
* Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Conditions of Employment (Cont.)
* Incumbent will be required to complete the Advanced Aviation Resource Management course to obtain the Special Experience Identifier (SEI) code 066 necessary to perform additional duties in accordance with published guidance and instructions if not already awarded. QUALIFICATIONS In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series 0301.
SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Knowledge of extensive body of Aviation Resource Management objectives, policies, technical rules, guidelines, instructions, regulations, policies and precedents to support and flight pay and training requirements. Extensive knowledge of ARMS System work processes and applications to develop database and ad-hoc queries on alternative approaches, to identify problems, to plan and implement solutions and to collaborate with design center personnel to incorporate needed system changes.
Knowledge of aviation service eligibility, aircrew rating requirements, aircrew flight incentive pay requirements, conditional incentive pay requirements in relationship to reserve status codes, active/inactive reserve status. OR
EDUCATION:
master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related
