Job Overview

Blue Acorn iCi is seeking a senior software engineer with extensive experience in building microservices and delivering end-to-end solutions across the software lifecycle. The role requires strong backend expertise, cloud and Dev Ops capabilities, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to drive scalable, secure microservices architectures.

• Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Node.js and Java, with emphasis on end-to-end delivery through the software lifecycle.
• Contribute to system architecture, including service decomposition, API gateways, service discovery, fault tolerance, and scalability.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, handling JSON/XML and API versioning.
• Adopt a Dev Ops mindset with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and automated testing.
• Containerize services and manage orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Leverage messaging and streaming technologies (e.g., Apache Kafka) for event-driven architectures.
• Configure centralized configuration management and service discovery (e.g., Spring Cloud Config, Eureka/Consul/Zookeeper).
• Utilize API gateways (Zuul, Spring Cloud Gateway, or Kong) to route, secure, and monitor API traffic.
• Employ build and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD, Circle
  
  CI) and build tools (Maven or Gradle).
• Implement monitoring and logging with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Splunk.
• Perform unit and integration testing using JUnit, Mockito, and API testing with Postman or REST Assured.
• Version control with Git; collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment (Scrum or Kanban).
• Demonstrate problem-solving and debugging skills for distributed systems.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 3-5 years creating microservices and delivering end-to-end solutions through the Software lifecycle.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with delivery responsibility and end-to-end solutions.
• Understanding of Adobe XSD.
• Strong Node.js knowledge with extensive experience in a Senior Engineer role.
• Java knowledge:
  Java SE/EE, including Spring Boot and Spring Cloud for microservices.
• Experience with microservices architecture: service decomposition, API gateway, service discovery, fault tolerance, and scalability.
• RESTful APIs design and consumption, including JSON/XML handling and API versioning.
• Cloud/Dev Ops: CI/CD, IaC, and automated testing.
• Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Messaging/Streaming (Apache Kafka) for event-driven communication.
• Configuration and service discovery (Spring Cloud Config, Eureka/Consul/Zookeeper).
• API gateways (Zuul, Spring Cloud Gateway, Kong).
• Monitoring and logging:
  Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Splunk.
• Testing: JUnit, Mockito, Postman or REST Assured.
• Version control with Git; collaborative and agile mindset.
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, especially in deploying microservices.
• Security: OAuth2, JWT, TLS, and best practices for securing microservices.
• Database knowledge:
