The Haul Truck Driver position is responsible for operating Articulated Haul Trucks in a safe and appropriate manner. This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of equipment/trucks. Work will be performed per the supervisor’s instruction, free from direct supervision except for more complicated jobs. Haul Truck Driver is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and securing his/her Haul Truck.

Haul Truck Driver is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and securing his/her Haul Truck.
EssentialFunctions
- Operate haul trucks to transport and/or stockpile dirt, aggregate, and other materials and/or equipment to various locations on the job site.
- Use handheld mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.
- Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
- Help identify hazardous conditions on the job site.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Operate haul trucks in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Clean trucks as scheduled and/or required.
- Maintain the haul truck and advise supervisor of any maintenance or repairs.
- Report any damage immediately to supervisor.
- Use the haul truck for its intended purpose with little or no assistance.
- Maintain and turn in daily records of loads hauled.
- Ensure trucks and equipment are safely and securely stored.
Minimum Education and/or
Experience:
- A valid driver's license
- Must have experience with the following
- A45 Volvo Articulation Haul Truck
- Cat 740 & 745 Articulation Haul Truck
- Equipment safety
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of and ability maintain truck/equipment and follow related procedures
- Ability to communicate information in writing so others will understand
- Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally with others
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work independently or as a team member successfully
- Ability to ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed
- Ability to meet project schedule with dependability and consistency
- Ability to wear protective clothing
