Location: McChord Air Force Base
Duties The primary purpose of this position is to instruct and evaluate the performance of Aircraft Loadmasters in their assigned aircrew duties, to perform in-flight aircrew duties, and to perform related staff work assignments. The duties performed are specifically covered by the GS-2185 Aircrew Technician Series, which includes all positions the primary duties of which are to perform, instruct, or supervise flight crew work, particularly (1) flight engineering work supporting the operation of heavy multiengine aircraft, (2) controlling and operating aerial refueling systems aboard tanker aircraft, and (3) loading, positioning, securing, and offloading cargo in transport aircraft.
DUTIES: DUTY 1:
Develops and provides technical loadmaster upgrade and proficiency training/instruction to Reserve aircrew members and ART personnel. DUTY 2:
Directly assists the aircraft pilot in the operation of the aircraft by performing flight engineering duties . DUTY 3:
Accomplishes a wide variety of pre-flight, in-flight and post-flight loadmaster duties required by the nature of the aircraft assigned and/or the aircraft's specialized mission. DUTY 4:
Develops evacuation procedures for aircrew and passengers. Briefs passengers on in-flight and emergency procedures and demonstrates the use of emergency equipment. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Retired military are usually ineligible for membership in the Air Force Reserve. Retired military personnel who have active Air Force Reserve assignments may apply provided they show assignment (position and unit) on their application.

* Shift work and emergency overtime may be required

Qualifications:
Applicants will be rated in accordance with the FPM 930-71 Recruitment of Air Reserve Technicians through Competitive Examination (ART Agreement)-SUPPLEMENTAL QUALIFICATION POLICY, DATED 6-OCT-2017. No specific length of experience is required. The qualifications of loadmasters in the Air Force are directly related to the completion of prerequisite training rather than years of experience. Applicants for all positions must have logged the minimum number of hours indicated below in the performance of Aircraft Loadmaster duties.
