Bus​/Van Driver Substitute

Summary

We are seeking a reliable and responsible Bus/Van Driver Substitute to join our team at the Oakville School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting passengers safely and efficiently to their destinations. This is a substitute position, which means you will be called upon to fill in for our regular drivers when they are unavailable.

• Operate a bus or van safely and efficiently, following all traffic laws and company policies
• Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle
• Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger counts
• Communicate effectively with passengers and dispatchers
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including conducting pre-trip inspections and wearing appropriate safety gear
• Respond to emergencies and accidents as needed
• Other duties as assigned

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and drug test
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
