We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Class A CDL Delivery Driver to join our team. In this role, you will operate commercial vehicles to safely transport and deliver building materials and products to customer locations while providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and on-time delivery performance.
Drivers operate vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) exceeding 26,000 pounds and may tow trailers exceeding 10,000 pounds. This position requires compliance with all Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and company safety standards.
Delivery Operations- Safely transport and deliver products, materials, and supplies to customer locations according to scheduled routes.
- Load and/or assist with loading products and secure cargo to ensure safe transportation.
- Position vehicles for loading and unloading activities and verify proper placement of equipment.
- Assist customers with unloading materials while protecting products and customer property from damage.
- Verify order accuracy by comparing delivered items against invoices and shipping documents.
- Complete delivery documentation, including mileage, delivery locations, quantities, and weights.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and customers during deliveries.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and deliver outstanding customer service.
- Respond to customer inquiries and help resolve delivery-related concerns in a timely manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete all required documentation.
- Maintain Hours of Service (HOS) records and Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Utilize handheld technology to complete required reporting and compliance activities when the vehicle is not in operation.
- Follow all company, DOT, local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Attend safety meetings and training sessions as required.
- Maintain the cleanliness and professional appearance of assigned vehicles.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to load, unload, and move materials as needed.
- Process product returns, credit pickups, and related documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Minimum of 1 year of delivery driving experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card within five (5) days of request.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Fewer than five (5) moving violations within the past five (5) years.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Two (2) or more years of Class A CDL driving experience.
- Experience delivering building materials or operating in a distribution environment.
- Forklift operation experience and certification.
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in warehouse, yard, and outdoor environments subject to varying weather conditions, temperature fluctuations, dust, noise, moving equipment, and other industrial conditions.
- Frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Occasionally lift or move materials weighing up to 200 pounds with assistance.
- Perform physical activities including climbing, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting.
- Safely enter and exit commercial vehicle cabs multiple times throughout the day.
- Maintain the physical ability to operate commercial vehicles, including twisting, turning, and maintaining full visibility while driving and maneuvering equipment.
