- Gather detailed customer technical requirements and map them to Zscaler capabilities to ensure proposed architectures align with strategic objectives.
- Lead hands‑on product evaluations, configuring the platform to reflect customer environments and validating performance under realistic conditions.
- Design and execute evaluation test plans that verify security outcomes, availability, and scalability before procurement decisions are made.
- Partner with sales teams to build opportunity roadmaps that prioritize technical milestones and stakeholder engagement sequences.
- Translate complex customer constraints into clear solution narratives that balance security rigor with operational simplicity.
- Guide customers through proof of concept phases, troubleshooting configuration issues and demonstrating measurable value.
- Advocate for customer success by ensuring that security policies are enforceable, observable, and aligned with zero trust principles.
- Collaborate with product management to provide feedback from the field, highlighting emerging use cases and competitive differentiators.
- Support the creation of technical artifacts such as architecture diagrams, configuration guides, and evaluation summaries for sales and marketing use.
- Engage with technical stakeholders across security, networking, and application teams to build consensus on data protection strategies.
- Demonstrate thought leadership by referencing real‑world threat data and platform telemetry to inform solution discussions.
- Maintain a solutions mindset, adapting evaluation approaches to meet the varied maturity levels of enterprise customers.
- Own the customer technical narrative from initial discovery through contract finalization, ensuring continuity and clarity.
- Possess a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent field with extensive security or systems integration experience.
- Bring 5 or more years of pre-sales engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on selling security or networking solutions in direct enterprise environments.
- Demonstrate deep experience with data protection mechanisms and modern web technologies, including encryption, identity, and access controls.
- Show proven ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organizational structure, collaborating across product, sales, and delivery teams.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of simplifying sophisticated security concepts for technical and executive audiences.
- Display comfort with ambiguity and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented setting.
- Commit to ethical sales practices, maintaining transparency about capabilities, limitations, and tradeoffs to build long‑term trust.
- Embrace continuous learning, actively exploring emerging technologies, threat landscapes, and customer business models.
- Experience with cloud security platforms, secure web gateways, and zero trust network access implementations.
- Familiarity with AI-driven security operations and analytics tools that enhance threat detection and response.
