Position: RN-Weekend - Med/Surg -Adults/Peds - Full Time - Nights

Find your calling at Mercy! Utilizes the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

- Weekends
- Surgical & Orthopedic Care Unit. Full-Time, 36 hours per week. Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM).

About Our Unit

Welcome to our high-energy, fast-paced 30-bed Surgical & Orthopedic Care Unit. Our diverse patient population includes a broad range of medical and postoperative cases, such as:

  • Orthopedic procedures: knees, hips, shoulders
  • General surgeries: appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resections
  • Specialized care: bariatric surgery, sepsis, pancreatitis, and stable pneumothorax

We maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, supported by highly skilled Patient Care Associates to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care delivery. What truly sets us apart is our exceptional team: clinical expertise, unmatched dedication, strong collaboration, empathy and compassion.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program.
  • Active RN license (state-specific or compact) and meet all state board of nursing requirements.
Certifications Required
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • BLS – Basic Life Support (or within 30 days of hire)
  • Any unit-specific certifications (with timeline for completion)
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged standing/walking throughout shift.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, twist, squat as needed.
