Gift Shop Director
Expected
Hours:
March through August: 10 hours/week;
September: 20 hours/week;
End of September through end of October: 12 hour days every day;
November 10-20 hours/week;
December through February: off.
Compensation: $18 per hour

Job DescriptionThe Gift Shop Supervisor is responsible for the full operation of the Huntsman World Senior Games Gift Shop, from annual planning and purchasing through on-site execution during the Games and post-event closeout. This role serves as the primary point of accountability for inventory management, point-of-sale operations, cash handling, volunteer coordination, and compliance with internal financial controls.
Responsibilities- Plan, organize, and manage all Gift Shop operations throughout the year.
- Lead purchasing process, including vendor meetings, purchase orders, budgeting, and pricing strategy
- Oversee inventory lifecycle: receiving, tagging, storage, transfers, sales, reconciliation, and post-Games inventory counts.
- Manage POS system, including inventory uploads, pricing changes, reports, and troubleshooting.
- Supervise daily cash operations, including cashier setup, shift changes, reports, deposits, and security protocols.
- Prepare and maintain required daily, weekly, and annual sales and cashier reports.
- Coordinate Gift Shop setup, operations, and takedown at the Dixie Center during the Games
- Train, schedule, and supervise Gift Shop assistants, cashiers, and volunteers.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls related to cash handling and reporting.
- Coordinate with HWSG leadership, CFO, and Dixie Center staff.
- Ensure a clean, organized, welcoming retail environment at all times.
- Assist customers and provide Games-related information as needed.
- Move boxes or items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Retail Operations Management (2-5 years), Inventory and Merchandising Expertise, Cash Handling and Financial Accuracy, POS System Proficiency, Attention to Detail, Organization, Time Management, Leadership and Supervision, Vendor Relations, Problem Solving, Written and Verbal Communication, Reliability, Ability to Work Independently Under Pressure
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, accounting, or retail management is a plus
- Prior retail management or inventory management experience
- Demonstrated experience with POS systems (Clover or similar)
- Experience handling cash, deposits, and financial reports
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Google Sheets, basic office software)
