Position Summary
As a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician at Walmart, you will support and oversee repairs of refrigeration HVAC equipment in Walmart facilities. You will use commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand tools, digital tools, and power tools to complete jobs and maintain facilities to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and repair Walmart facility's refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders and document repair activities.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by performing work according to Walmart’s safety policy and environmental guidelines.
- Lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights, including moving up and down ladders.
- 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
- Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
- Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
- 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Optionally, a vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or a related field, or 4 years’ experience in the same area.
- HVAC‑R/Mechanical journeyman license where required.
- Ability to read and speak English.
- Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last five years.
- Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
- Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
- Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software.
- Mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.
- No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
- No serious traffic violations as defined by federal regulations.
- Prior experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Prior experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.

The hourly wage range for this position is $29.00–$58.00. Additional compensation premiums may apply based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
