- Base Pay $20.00 - $21.00 / Hour
A successful Yard Worker at Dunn Lumber is expected to learn and grow their ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities needed to uphold a safe, clean, accurate, and hospitable environment as material flows in and out of our yards. You will be a part of a highly skilled team that will utilize saws and forklifts to cut and move material, unload and check in material from vendor trucks, load walk-in customer vehicles, and build lumber packages for transfer to other Dunn Lumber locations or delivery to customer jobsites.
A fully trained Yard Worker is capable of upholding The Legacy of Trust daily through; trusted advice, quality materials, and excellent service. This happens with the completion of all expected operational tasks, maintaining a clean and organized yard, and building trust with customers and co-workers by understanding their needs.

This location is currently hiring for the following schedule(s):Saturday: 7:45am-5:05pm
OR
Tuesday
- Friday: 9:30am-6:05pm
Saturday: 7:45am-5:05pm
Please Note:
Upon hire, all employees complete two-week training period, at our Bellevue or Shoreline locations. For a new hire's first two weeks they work a training schedule of Monday
- Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm. This training is mandatory, and employees receive daily stipends to offset travel expenses.

- Safely loading customers with materials in an efficient and courteous fashion
- Maintain a knowledge of outside product codes for quick identification
- Keep the yard clean so it can be a safe and welcoming environment for our customers
- Protect materials out in the yard from damage from the sun, wind, and rain
- Stock material in a neat and presentable fashion
- Make adjustments for lost or damaged material
- Check paperwork for accuracy, including customer receipts and packing slips
- Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices
- Conduct yourself each day in a manner consistent with Dunn Lumber’s core values
- Use Forklifts for various tasks
- Other duties as assigned
Previous
Experience:
Customer service experience is preferred.
Education, Certificates, or Licenses: This position has no prerequisite education, certificates, or licenses. Forklift and saw training and certification will be provided. Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Technical/Computer
Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic competency with computers including the ability to enter login credential information, punch in and out for work, and operate a barcode scanner. This position also requires ability to perform basic math, such as counting, fractions, addition, subtraction, and multiplication. The ability to read a tape measure is preferred upon hire and required after training.
Supervisor Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to very heavy work. Exerting more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or more than 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The employee is regularly required to stand and/or walk for long periods of time, and required to climb ladders, sit, stoop, kneel, squat, or crouch on occasion.
