Salary: $66,137 to $124,653 (pro‑rated based on FTE) per 2025‑26 salary schedule

Purpose

Essential Functions
  • Develops and maintains a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Plans and implements an instructional program designed to meet individual student needs.
  • Evaluates student performance and progress.
  • Collaborates closely with building administrators, educators, support staff, families, and students to establish and implement a tiered framework that uses data to meet the needs of each student through academics, behavior, and social‑emotional learning (SEL) interventions.
  • Nurtures a school environment that celebrates, respects, and values diversity, making teaching and learning relevant and meaningful to students of various cultures.
  • Subscribes to the notion that student success is a teacher’s paramount responsibility.
  • Uses necessary and appropriate instructional methods and materials suited to the students’ needs and to the nature of the learning activities, program, and curriculum involved.
  • Establishes and implements, in a positive and supportive manner, clear classroom procedures, routines, and expectations.
  • Provides for the personal and social growth of students.
  • Makes referrals for assistance where appropriate.
  • Participates in team planning focused on instructional practices and student learning.
  • Communicates student progress to parents/guardians.
  • Maintains appropriate student records.
  • Directs the activities of assigned non‑certificated personnel.
  • Participates in staff meetings and other activities deemed necessary by the District and/or building principal to accomplish the objectives of the position and for professional growth.
  • Works cooperatively with a building team in planning, supporting, and providing instruction, and shares with other staff the responsibility for supervision of activities and student behavior outside the regular classroom.
  • Demonstrates positive relationship skills with students, families, and district staff, maintaining ongoing and open communication.
  • Encourages and provides the structure for ongoing, meaningful involvement of families and community members in the classroom and school.
  • Uses technology to provide challenging instruction to students of all learning levels.
  • Possesses knowledge of and adheres to governing policies and district regulations and procedures.
Other Functions
  • Serves on staff committees as needed.
  • Performs related tasks consistent with the scope and responsibility of the position.
Qualifications
  • Must qualify for a valid Washington State teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements as required by law.
  • Ability to implement classroom management procedures for large and small groups of students, providing an environment conducive to learning.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and oral form.
  • Ability to integrate relevant technology for the purpose of student learning across curricular areas.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in varied conditions and settings.
  • Ability to assess the needs of students and implement effective lessons to meet those needs through the use of appropriate instructional materials.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of staff and stakeholders.
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with students, in a mutually respectful, supportive, and accessible manner.
  • Ability to relate positively to students and adults of varying socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic backgrounds, learning styles, and/or disabilities.
  • Ability to process information to make sound judgments and decisions.
Education

College degree in an education‑related area; a bachelor’s degree is required.

Clearances

WA State Sexual Misconduct Inquiry;
Exempt WSP/FBI Background Clearance.
